Christopher Nolan’s first film is a sharp, shifty neo-noir.
WHY WE PICKED IT: A pre-‘Memento’ Nolan originally debuted his super-stylized, non-linear approach to storytelling in this quick, clever crime caper.
Bill, an unemployed young writer, starts following strangers around the streets of London in search of material for his first book. He becomes intrigued by a serial burglar in a dark suit, Cobb, who soon catches Bill in the act and invites him to join in on a series of systematic, voyeuristic crimes centered on unearthing the most personal - rather than most valuable - items of their victims.
